To better understand the evolution of practices, digital cultures and societal concerns

  • This MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) is a tool available to any and everyone for better understanding the digital practices and usages that affect our everyday behavior.

Digital cultures and practices are changing our relationship to media, to the image, and more generally, are affecting our everyday behavior in the community. As they reach across so many disciplines, from the visual arts to the applied arts, to the performing arts, they also pose new questions to the existing orders of society, culture, philosophy, economics, and ethics, that we want to understand.

This online platform aims to address these questions by sharing freely each month the expertise of the leading specialists in these emerging fields. The idea is to make this knowledge, and these viewpoints, accessible to the public at large, recognizing the value this content could have in the immediate future.

Ars Longa

Ars Longa is a structure for the production, diffusion, and mediation of all art forms at the juncture of Art, Research, and Society. It favors innovative approaches, and focuses on the appropriation of projects for educational or civic purposes. Through a collective awareness of the changing landscape, of the development of our digital circumstance, of the emergence of new trades, we are able to accompany public, private, and civic organizations in the metamorphosis of their environments.

Dominique Moulon

Art critic and independent curator Dominique Moulon studied visual arts at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Art in Bourges, and holds a doctorate in Arts and Art Sciences from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He is a member of the Observatory of Digital Worlds in the Humanities, the International Association of Art Critics, and the International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art. Founder of the site, he writes articles for publications such as Art Press, and is also co-curator of the Biennale Némo. Dominique Moulon teaches creative techat the Ecole Professionnelle Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques de la Ville de Paris, and at Parsons – The New School for Design. He has also been invited multiple times to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, the Fresnoy – National Studio of Contemporary Arts, and into the faculty of the Universités Paris 8. As the author of the works Art Contemporain Nouveaux MédiasArt Numérique en Résonance, and L'art au-delà du Digital, he is sometimes called upon by companies as an expert in digital cultures.




The City of Paris Advanced Vocational School of Graphic Design

A City of Paris public school, (Department of Recruitment and Employment), EPSAA is an institution focused entirely on the training of artistic directors in visual communication and multimedia (in the widest sense of the term), and preparing them for entry into the workplace.

The school offers entry by open competition to:

  • Preparatory classes for the entry competitions for top art schools.
  • A degree in visual communication leading to a Level 1 professional state certification as Artistic Director in Visual Communication and Multimedia
  • A state certified validation of acquired experience (Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience)
  • A Digital Media Lab open to art school graduates with a diploma in visual communication, or equivalent.
  • Night courses for adults, under the administrative supervision of the Paris Municipal Office of Adult Learning (Department of Scholastic Affairs)
